Black hurting
Senior point guard Mike Black is questionable for University at Albany's game at South Carolina State Tuesday night
Black hurt his hip Saturday against the University of Missouri-Kansas City at Mohegan Sun Arena but played through the pain. He came out of Sunday's game with Loyola, also at Mohegan Sun Arena, with less than 12 minutes left when the pain became unbearable. He was replaced by Peter Hooley and D.J. Evans.
UAlbany head coach Will Brown is uncertain of Black's status but doesn't want to risk further injury. "It's a marathon, not a sprint," he said.
Black leads the Great Danes at 16 points per game. He is also the team's top playmaker.
The 3-2 Great Danes will be playing their fifth game in the last 10 days, all on the road. It's been a solid trip, though, with two wins in four games, including a huge upset over Washington.
They finally return home Nov. 26 to host Wagner at SEFCU Arena.
