Danes improve in poll
UAlbany moved up to 20th in the College Insider Mid-Major Top-25 poll this week
It's the highest top-25 ranking in the mid-major poll since entering Division I in 1999.
The Great Danes were also featured in Top-25, ranked 21st, in the Bleacher Report's Mid-Major Poll.
UAlbany has strung together six consecutive wins to improve to 9-2 overall, which is its best 11-game start in the Division 1 era.
Nationally, UAlbany is 17th from behind the arc, shooting 40.0 percent (84-210) and 48th from the free-throw, shooting 73.9 percent (170-230).
The Great Dane duo of Mike Black and Jacob Iati have been a huge part to the team's success, averaging a combined 33.8 points per game, which is a conference best between two players. UAlbany has also received help from the bench by Peter Hooley and Sam Rowley. Hooley and Rowley seeing just over 20 minutes a game, have combined for 13.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game.
UAlbany looks to extend its winning streak to seven on Friday against Quinnipiac at the SEFCU Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
