Ponikarovsky trade will send someone back to Albany

The New Jersey Devils traded a pair of draft picks Wednesday for left wing Alexei Ponikarovsky, who was part of the Devils' Stanley Cup finals run last season.

New Jersey sends a seventh round draft pick in 2013 and a fourth round pick in 2014 to Winnipeg for Ponikarovsky, and GM/CEO/President Lou Lamoriello said the team will be sending a player yet to be named down to Albany of the AHL as soon as the transaction is completed.

Albany is stacked with players, carrying 28 (two goalies, eight defensemen and 18 forwards) with the addition of left wing Harry Young earlier in the day.
