Albany adds defenseman

The Albany Devils announced Tuesday they signed defenseman Stefan Stepanov to an AHL contract.
The 20-year-old Stepanov, a native of Moscow who played for Russia in the 2010 International Ice Hockey Federation's World Under-18 Championship and the World Gunior A Challenge, split the last two and a half seasons between the Kontinental Hockey League and the Minor Hockey League. He played 51 KHL games for CSKA Moscow (2010-11), recording two assists and 24 penalty minutes. In 55 games with Yekaterinburg of the MHL (2011-13), he had seven goals, 23 assists and 54 penalty minutes. This season, he has played in 20 KHL games and two MHL games.
