Socialist mayor a century ago...
A pastor at the First Reformed Church in the Stockade, this Iowa native became Schenectady’s first and only Socialist mayor on Jan. 1, 1912. Later a Democrat, he would serve as mayor for four terms, and also win election to the U.S. House of Representatives. Who was he?
