Pro-casino message goes statewide on TV

Advertisements advocating for the expansion of casino gambling in New York have made it upstate.

The coalition New York Jobs Nows, which includes business, labor and casino interests, has spread its television advertising campaign upstate, after initially launching their television campaigns in Long Island and New York City. The new ads tout the support the proposal has from various newspaper editorial boards and the type of jobs that will be created.

Below are the two statewide ads, with the "newspapers agree" one on top and the "good jobs" pitch on the bottom.

"Proposal One keeps good jobs and casino revenue in New York instead of sending billions out of state," says the newspaper ad script. "That's why newspapers all over the state are urging a Yes vote on Prop One."

In the other advertisement, the bipartisan support for the expansion is touted.
