Pro-casino ads target Long Island and NYC

Voters in New York City and Long Island are the targets of advertising in support of the proposition this year to expand casino gambling.

The NY Jobs Now coalition of business groups, labor organizations and other interested parties are making their pitch to the largest block of voters in the state, with two different ads saying why people should vote yes. Both ads argue that voters should support the referendum regardless of which candidates they're voting for, whether it's in the New York City mayoral race or the Nassau County Executive race, where all the candidates support the proposition's passage.

Watch the New York City ad and the Long Island ad below.

Business Council of New York State President Heather C. Briccetti, one of the faces of the NY Jobs Now coalition, said in a statement, “This year, business and labor, Democrats and Republicans are working together bring back the more than $1.2 billion New Yorkers spend every year at nearby gaming resorts across the state line."

These two ads are the first in what is promised to be a statewide television campaign.
