Casinos = Lots of money!
The state's plan to open four casinos in New York and video gaming in Long Island will means lots of money, according to a breakdown released today by the New York State Division of Budget.
Based on average projections, the DOB said in a press release, "[The expansion] will produce $238 million, annually, in additional aid for education or property tax relief across the entire State, plus an additional $192 million in annual local government aid."
A regional breakdown of the impact is available below.
If Saratoga Springs hosts a casino, which means live-table games going to the Saratoga Casino & Raceway, it would mean an additional $5.7 million for the city and county each.
