The Gloversville Police Department and Schoharie County Sheriff's Tactical and Rescue Force were big local winners in a state Senate resolution passed on the final day of the session that authorized a number of statewide criminal grants.

A $20,000 grant to Gloversville and $25,000 to Schoharie were just some of the millions authorized for law enforcement, anti-crime,anti-drug, crime control, treatment and prevention programs. Other local grants include $10,000 for Catholic Charities of Schoharie County, $5,000 for Mechanicville Area Community Service Center and $7,500 for the city of Johnstown Police Department.

A copy of the resolution authorizing the grants is available below, with some of the local grants highlighted in bold font.
