Four casinos in updated plan from the governor
Gov. Andrew Cuomo is amending his casino-siting proposal to include a first round with four casinos.
The increase from three to four was announced this morning by the governor during an interview on the Capitol Pressroom.
"Under my proposal, four casinos statewide," he said of the planned first round.
The four casinos would benefit from five years of exclusivity, with three more casino licenses then up for bid. The governor said his amended bill would not specify where the final three casinos would be located, saying a lot could change by the time the state is ready to place them.
