Possibility of Tkaczyk-Amedore rematch remains

Former-Assemblyman George Amedore was able to raise a lot of money in the last six months without trying.

The Rotterdam Republican, who narrowly lost a bid for the state Senate last fall to Duanesburg Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk, raised $51,994.36 in the last six months, according to a July campaign finance filing with the state Board of Elections. Ninety percent of the money Amedore raised, though, was unspent money for television advertisements in the fall that was being returned to his campaign.

"I took in a little bit of money," said Amedore in a phone interview on Tuesday. His campaign raised $4,500 from contributions by Fulmont Ready-Mix Co. and Glens Falls Ready Mix and about $5,00 was moved from his now closed Assembly campaign committee into his senate campaign committee.

Based on the latest filings, Tkaczyk has $52,616.97 in her war chest and Amedore has   $38,407.91.

He cautioned against reading too much into his campaign account remaining open, saying, "We'll see what the future holds...I'm pretty much watching, listening and getting inspired."
