More votes have been ordered to be counted in the contested 46th Senate District.

The Third Department of the Appellate Division of state Supreme Court has ruled that about 100 additional ballots will be opened in the race. Former Assemblyman George Amedore, R-Rotterdam, currently leads Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk by 37 votes.

The entire ruling is available below.

Included in the votes that will be counted are 53 invalidated ballots from Ulster County election workers.

"[The state] Supreme Court erred in sustaining objections to 53 special ballots," read the ruling.

In the wake of this ruling, Amedore spokesman Kris Thompson said in a statement, "We are reviewing the court decision and will have a response at the appropriate time."

The court upheld objections to 209 affidavit ballots that were invalidated, however.
