Driving with Levon Helm
Thursday, February 21, 2013
A state legislator wants to name a road after Levon Helm.
The influential singer and drummer from The Band, who lived in Ulster County, died early last year. Now Democratic Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, who represents the area, wants to preserve that legacy with the "Levon Helm Memorial Boulevard."
The legislation was introduced earlier this week. The memorial boulevard would run along state route 375, from where it intersects state route 28 in West Hurley to where it intersects state route 212 in Woodstock.
The bill doesn't have a Senate companion yet.

A very nice tribute for an exemplary man and musician.
