Mechanicville's record keeping masks fiscal conditions
Wednesday, February 6, 2013
The state Comptroller's Office today released an audit criticizing the city of Mechanicville for poor bookkeeping and budgeting that make it difficult to tell how much money the city has.
The entire audit is available below. Read more about the audit HERE.
The audit, which covered the period from January 2010 through February 2012, highlighted a problem that city leaders have struggled with for several years: A poor computer record-keeping system several years ago has prevented the city from closing the books on 2010 and 2011.
A full story on the audit will appear in the Thursday issue of the Daily Gazette.
