National Grid prepares for Sandy

National Grid is expecting a lot of power outages in the Capital Region and has been mobilizing its resources in advance of Hurricane Sandy.
“We urge customers to take precautions and prepare for the worst case scenario,” said Kenneth Daly, National Grid President for New York, in a statement. “If there is extensive flooding, there also could be natural gas service interruptions.”
Below is a complete statement from the company, which offers tips on going through the storm and any resulting power outages. Any outages can be reported to National Grid at 1-800-867-5222.
