Pro-business group sends mailer promoting Amedore for Senate
The political action committee for Unshackle Upstate has sent a postcard to thousands of voters in the 46th Senate District on behalf of Assemblyman George Amedore, R-Rotterdam.
In the postcard, Unshackle Upstate, which is a coalition of business interests in New York, highlights Amedore's score of 93 on Unshackle Upstate's legislative scorecard. This grade indicates he voted for or opposed legislation that Unshackle deemed positive for the business community.
"Since arriving in Albany, George Amedore has been fighting to support job creation and protect taxpayers," reads the postcard. "His commitment to unlocking New York State’s true economic potential is reflected his score of 93 – among the highest of all legislators – on Unshackle Upstate’s 2012 Legislative Scorecards."
This is the only Capital Region state Senate race that Unshackle will take a position, according to group spokesman Andrew Gregory.
Gregory said the postcard is being sent to tens of thousands of voters, who are mostly not registered with a major party. The group is not yet disclosing how much it will be spending on the political advertisement, but this information should be available on later campaign finance filings.
Amedore is running against Delanson Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk. The district includes Montgomery and Schenectady counties and stretches down to Ulster County.
