Lots of lines, few candidates on 46th Senate District ballot

No Capital Region state legislature race has more ballot lines and fewer candidates than the 46th Senate District.

Assemblyman George Amedore, R-Rotterdam, will be appearing on the Republican, Conservative and Independence line. Duanesburg School Board Vice President Cecilia Tkaczyk has the Democrat, Working Families and Green lines under her belt.

The 46th Senate District includes Montgomery and Schenectady counties and stretches down to Ulster County.

Amedore secured his lines without a challenge and Tkaczyk had to win primaries for the Green and Democratic nominations.

The maximum number of lines a candidate can appear on is three. Typically, Republican candidates also secure the Conservative line and Democratic candidates appear on the Working Families line.
