Touting the 'new New York' (with video)

An ad campaign unveiled today that touts the "new New York" highlights the success of the Fage yogurt plant in Johnstown.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo revealed the "The New New York Works For Business" ads and website, which are part of a $50 million campaign to show the rest of the country why the state is a good place for a business to grow. There are six advertisements as part of this initial phase of the project.

“By sending the message that New York is the place for businesses to come and thrive, we can deliver on our number one priority: creating jobs, jobs, jobs,” Cuomo said in a statement. “We are competing against many other states that have been working for years to entice businesses but it is time for the business community to realize that our state is the place for them to succeed and prosper. By telling the stories of businesses that are already succeeding in our state, we can attract even more economic opportunity and jobs here for New Yorkers."

The Fage story revolves around the partnership between the company and New York state that allowed the company to mount an expansion in Fulton County. This expansion is a $100 million project developed with the help of an incentive package from the state worth more than $1.5 million.
