Albany identifies sports for permit parking parking spots

The Albany Common Council has agreed on where 2,750 permit parking only spaces will be in the area around the Empire State Plaza.

The designated areas are mostly west of the ESP, with 2,070 spots in the neighborhoods known as Center Square, Hudson/Park, Park South and Washington Park. The remaining spots are east of ESP.

Mixed into neighborhoods designated for permit parking are spaces that will be exempt from the permit system. The list of specific spots can be seen below.

The permit system is expected to go into effect on Oct. 1.
