Hearing set for Monday on St. Peter's plans in Clifton Park
A public hearing will be held Monday night to consider a plan by St. Peter's Health Partners to establish a medical campus on Route 146 in Clifton Park.
The health care system recently asked the town for approval to expand its urgent care center at Tallow Wood Drive and Route 146 by 1,700 square feet and start leasing 25,000 square feet of vacant space in the neighboring Executive Woods office park. The parking lot between the two buildings would be expanded.
St. Peter's has been vying for more share of the southern Saratoga County market for a while now. In recent years, Ellis Medicine, Saratoga Hospital and Albany Medical Center have all expanded into the area to accommodate its growth in population and jobs.
The goal of the St. Peter's proposal would be to create a "campus-like" setting, with doctors offices in one building adjoining the existing urgent care center, making followup visits on-site possible with pediatricians, ob/gyns, cardiologists and other doctors right next door.
The location of the new office space is less than a mile from the 24-hour urgent care center Ellis Medicine opened last year.
The public hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Town Hall.
