Land swap and new parking are part of city council agenda

Monday, September 30, 2013

The Saratoga Springs City Council meeting on Tuesday includes a possible vote on purchasing land for a third fire station and the introduction of possibly ending alternate street parking in certain areas during the summer racing meet.

Both of the interesting items are being proposed by Public Safety Commissioner Chris Mathiesen. The meeting will also include a review of the city's proposed budget from Finance Commissioner Michele Madigan.

A copy of the agenda is available below.

There aren't many details available on the parking proposal, except that Mathiesen wants to set public hearings on the issue. He also wants to set a public hearing on "stop intersections."

Additionally, following Warren County's decision to have an earlier "last call" time, Mathiesen put on the agenda an item to discuss this development and a similar development in Essex County.
