A cup of Nutcracker Tea

Tickets for SPAC's Nutrcracker Tea fundraiser go on sale on Friday.

The one-hour performance of the classic ballet on Nov. 17 is sponsored by the The Albany Academies and presented by the Saratoga Performing Art Center's Action Council. The performance is by the Northeast Ballet Company.

SPAC President and Executive Director Marcia White noted that last year the show sold out and was a huge hit with kids and adults. She predicted a memorable day for fans attending this year's event.

Last year's performance

Albany Academy for Girls Associate Head of School Wendy Muhlfelder said in a statement, “Like SPAC, The Albany Academies work to cultivate a passion for artistic expression through performing and visual arts. Albany Academy for Girls and The Albany Academy have celebrated academic, athletic and artistic achievements for 200 years and we are thrilled to partner with SPAC by sponsoring the Nutcracker Tea."

According to a press release, the event will feature an elaborate English Tea with mini sandwiches, cookies and other delicacies, holiday photos, a raffle, and gift for children in attendance. The Hall of Springs will be transformed for the event with holiday trees and decorations.

Proceeds from the fundraisers benefit arts education at SPAC.

Tickets for the 11am and 3pm seatings are $60 for adults and $25 for children and can be purchased online or by calling 584-9330, ext. 115.
