Proposal to change housing authority board
Tuesday, March 5, 2013
The Saratoga Springs City Council is considering a resolution urging Mayor Scott Johnson to reconstitute the city's controversial housing authority.
The resolution from Accounts Commissioner John Franck is available below.
In November, the authority got slammed in an audit from New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli.
The resolution notes a laundry list of problems with the authority. It concludes with, "The Council urges and supports the Mayor to reconstitute the SSHA Board by appointing new board members, as authorized under the Public Housing Law."
