County searches for economic development plan

Saratoga County is starting the process of life after the Saratoga Economic Development Corporation.

The county announced plans in May to end its multi-decade run with SEDC at the end of the year. For life after SEDC, the county is seeking proposals from consultants to prepare an Economic Development Strategic

A copy of the request for proposal is available below.

"The primary objectives of the Plan are to (1) provide a framework to guide economic development efforts throughout Saratoga County over the next five to ten years; (2) recommend an appropriate organizational structure to lead economic development activities in Saratoga County; and (3) advise the County on the steps needed to create this structure, and provide strategic guidance on the staff, funding, and other resources necessary to support the organization and implement the countywide economic development program," reads the request.

But the county isn't the only one trying to move on with its life, as SEDC is also trying to forge ahead.

A full story on the request for proposal will be in the Wednesday issue of the Daily Gazette.
