Saratoga 150 horse featured on Blood-Horse magazine
A commemorative horse commissioned by Marylou Whitney and John Hendrickson is being featured on the front page of the Blood-Horse magazine.
The decorative horse was painted by equine artist Robert Clark, who highlighted what racing in Saratoga Springs looked like in 1863, 1913, 1963 and this year.
“I thought it was important to have a piece of art that that depicted 150 years of racing at the Spa,” said Saratoga 150 Honorary Chair John Hendrickson in a statement. “When I asked Bob if he would be willing to paint the history of the Saratoga Race Course on a life-size commemorative horse, he immediately said yes. He spent nearly four months creating this masterpiece. He donated his time and talent to this celebration so that we could all enjoy one of the greatest gifts ever given to our community.”
