"Shen Rap" star to appear on late night television

By Lombardo David
Thursday, August 8, 2013

A 2011 Shenendehowa High School graduate will appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Friday, according to a Facebook post.

Jack Carpenter posted on his Facebook page that he'll be part of a comedic rap battle during Friday's show. Carpenter, who is known locally from creating a rap video about his high school, said in the post that he'll get 30 minutes to write a funny rap song that he will perform on the show.

"I'll either pull through and make a great rap or spend my whole performance throwing up on stage...we'll find out," he wrote in his post.

Below is a copy of the rap video that went viral on YouTube before getting pulled down. WARNING, it contains a few expletives and some adult themes that might not be appropriate for everyone.

Below that is the audition tape Carpenter made.

According to his Facebook profile, Carpenter is currently an intern for CBS 6.

In July, Carpenter put a post on Craigslist seeking writers for his own late night television show. In that post, he identifies as a Champlain College student.
