Thousands raised for staff of destroyed restaurant

More than $7,000 was raised online in less than a day for workers at Augie's Restaurant who are out of work after the restaurant burned down on Monday.

As of this afternoon, 121 people had contributed to help out employees that are out of work while the restaurant starts the rebuilding process.

"We are making a fund for those who have experienced the service from Augie's to help hold over our employees while we rebuild," says the fundraiser page. "We hope we have the community reach out and help the staff. Nothing is more important to us than our dedicated and friendly service staff. Without them, there wouldn't be an Augie's."

According to the fundraiser website, the raised funds will be split evenly among the staff. There is a goal of $50,000 in less than 50 days.

Donations will come with special deals at the restaurant, like a five percent discount in the future for a $25 donation. A $250 donation is worth a 20 percent discount.
