Ride the painted ponies

Monday, April 29, 2013

The Congress Park Carousel will open for the 2013 season at noon on Saturday.

“Opening of the carousel is a great pleasure for me and the children in the city. It’s a sign that summer has finally arrived,” said Saratoga Springs Public Works Commissioner Anthony “Skip” Scirocco.

The carousel will be open weekends only from May 4 until June 21 when it will be open seven days a week through Labor Day.

The carousel has been in Congress Park for more than 10 years and has more than 50,000 riders each summer season. The city also hosts wedding, birthday and prom photos at the carousel.
Information about the carousel can be obtained by calling the city Department of Public Works at 587-3550, extension 2555.
