By Leo Coleman
Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Women’s Week at Saratoga Polo starts Wednesday and continues through Sunday with some of the best women polo players in the world competing in the Veuve Clicquot Women’s Challenge.

The matches will be played on the historic Whitney field or nearby fields at the Saratoga Polo Association facility at Bloomfield and Denton Roads in Greenfield, just north of the city.

This all-female polo extravaganza features more than 20 players from around the United States, Canada, and other countries.

The matches will be played at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Both general admission, by the carload, and clubhouse admission to the games are available.

The visiting players will be participating in several special events and receptions, including a named race “Saratoga Polo Women’s Week Race” at Saratoga Racecourse on Thursday, and at other Saratoga venues throughout the week.
