Tour of world's greatest tracks at Fasig-Tipton
A narrated tour of the world’s greatest races courses, including Saratoga Race Course, will be presented at 7 p.m. Thursday at Fasig-Tipton’s newly renovated horse sales pavilion on East Avenue.
The program is open to the public.
Paul Roberts, of London-based Turnberry Consulting, will take racing fans on a video tour of the world’s greatest racetracks, tracing the development of race courses from their historical antecedents in ancient Rome and Lebanon and their formal beginnings in England, through the opening of Saratoga Race Course in 1864 and the completion of Meydan race course in Dubai in 2010.
“England to Dubai: A World Race Course Tour” will be introduced by Charles Hayward, president and CEO of the New York Racing Association Inc.
Tickets for the event, presented by the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation and co-sponsored by the Fasig-Tipton Company and NYRA, are $10 and will be available that evening at the door.
