Irene,

We havee new Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) that much worse than old Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) as known as Diet COLAs. Yes, we (FERS) are hurting hurt more than CSRS with regular COLAs. Diet COLAs is between 2% to 3%, EX. Regular COLAs is 3% then FERS diet COLA's will get 2%, If Regular COLA's is 5% then FERS diet COLA will get 4%. It will decrease in 1% over 3% of Regular COLAs. With Chained CPI that we will get more suffer with diet COLA's than Regular Diet COLA's. Under the FERS has to pay Social Security vs no Social Security for CSRS. We are fighting for agaisnst Chained CPI after all.

Please leave it alone for public employee pension for NYS tax exempt and exclusion only for abuser or corrupt public employees. Instead of New York State tax exempt for all non-public retirees who are 59 years old or older or disable person as $20,000 per person as right now. However, we like to tax exempt increase between $30,000 to $35,000 for all non-public retirees and it should be increase tax exempt between $200 to $1000 per year depend on current economy sitution. NYS $20,000 tax exempt for all non-public retirees is out of date for more than 20 years.

State of Maryland has already their increase tax exempt from $26,300 to $27,100 this year for all retirees or disable person. Eight years ago, it was about $18,000 tax exempt for all retirees or disable in Maryland.

The ideas the city should submitted stub notice to homeowners with their city properity tax on the sidewalks front their properity. But, please take easy with homeowner(s) with option(s) choice as: Pay whole bill or split with payments within 2 or 4 years then their properity tax will go down on their properity or homeowners may pay contactor(s) themselves for repair sidewalk instead of increase their city properity tax. That is only way to solve the problem to homeowners to pay their bill from city property tax to make their own decision of choice.

in this area, it's not always about speed or attentive drivers...it's about "Staggering People" on the HIGHWAY...i travel this section of highway daily and see no problem with safety issues created by excessive speeds..introduce people ON any road in darkness, and there's a problem no matter where the roadway is...let's attempt to control the REAL issue vs the non-issue with more laws and constraints.

Patrol that section of highway with the intent of removing the Staggering Pedestrians from the roadway!

how about legistation to force the cell phone company's to eliminate that service from their sevices. i believe it was a better life before this technology was available. it was never a needed sevice. look what our governments spend to stop DWI, and nothing is being spent to stop our youth from killing themselves and others with texting while driving. get rid of this feature of our lives.
