I think Paul is disrespectful. This young man was a friend of my child's father, they had been friends for a few years. Although I did not know him I must give my condolences to his family and friends. There is yet another mother, brother, sister, grandparent, father, friend, or what have you, to mourn the senseless death of yet another YOUNG man. 20 years old and shot in the head. And Paul you did not know this young man. You do not know why he was shot. You do not know what provoked the shooting. So he had a rap sheet? That does not mean that he was "bad" or a "menace". It simply means he made a mistake. And obviously you don't understand coming from the hood either as we all do. Yung Problem was his alias, it was what his music name was. That does not mean that he was the ultimate definition of that alias. And you Paul, are a very disrespectful IGNORANT man. Keepingitreal and ConcernedSchenectadyCitizen I respect what you said. This senseless violence must stop. I pray for this young man and his family. My condolences. God bless. -1oo

i don't really know what to think of this. the "victim" was a sex offender. personally i do not believe 13 years is enough for a person that steals away a child's innocence. and how do we know that he didn't repeat again? the article says otherwise. but godforbid, there's another frightened child out there keeping it a secret until it erupts to the surface. and the "accused" is a prior offender with a violent history. maybe if these two served longer sentences this would never have happened. but i really cannot say i feel sorry that a sex offender lost his life.

i appreciate your commentary. and i do understand what you are saying about the funding and everything else. i am only 20 years old, so i guess i didn't understand. as to the second part of your commentary, i don't believe that this project will break the cycle of people not wanting to live in schenectady. schenectady is ruined. i don't believe this town will ever come back from the hell that has been infused into it. thank you.

this is just pathetic. now you see, if this was a regular civilian they would be serving a ridiculous amount of time due to New York State's Rockerfeller Drug Laws. but this woman, although there is an abundant amount of evidence to back up her conviction, she will probably be able to take a plea bargan and get about three years in prison. and she is the ex-chief of police's wife. explain to me how he did not know that she was pushing and using cocaine? or explain to me how he was not involved with the whole operation? this is also schenectady folks. a place where the police have proven over and over again that they cannot be trusted. they use, sell, and tamper with drug evidence. they recieve oral sex and have intercourse with drug-addicted prostitutes. yet, we trust them to take care of our community. all they do is litter it with drugs to more drug dealers, reward crack addicts with crack when they "snitch" on other people, and provide guns to criminals, and beat women. they use their power of authority to make their way in the streets. they are feared, and disrespected. i believe that all schenectady police are corrupt a**holes.

i am very bothered by this whole situation. i have been a resident of schenectady living in the more poverty stricken areas. houses out here run between 25,000 and 70,000 dollars. the property taxes alone will kill you. and let's face it, no one wants to live in schenectady. in a city where the reality is ongoing violence, drugs, prostitution, and a corrupt police force that can barely protect the average hard-working citizen, we choose to invest 20 million dollars into a college dorm. schenectady community college is not even that large of a campus. the city residents are being raped in taxes because the city is broke and has no income. but how are we supposed to be able to fund 20 million dollars to a project that is only going to house 315 students at a two-year COMMUNITY college?! i am very sure that we could put that 20 million dollars to other uses other than a dormitory for college students.
