Caveat to this....Who cares that TWO properties are being tended to....That's what we have a "Vegetation Crew" assigned and working for the City to do...Go out and clean up a park or Memorial for Christ's Sake and make the COMMUNITY a better place for us (like I DO) instead of tooting your horn about about something that is getting you nowhere fast.

I want people out there who read the follow up to this story to know that the Veteran's Commission had scheduled their meeting a bit over a week prior to this particular forum being scheduled. The Mayor has a persistent habit of doing this (causing scheduled conflicts) to the City of Amsterdam Veteran's Commission--by pulling away key administrative figures from being able to attend our meetings. It's totally documented and a matter of fact.

And when they did "I Want You to Want Me"---Robin used my old Fender Telecaster I gave to him last year at SPAC...I should know----I was backstage for both CT appearances...To me, it seemed as though CC Deville wasn't playing his instrument (unless some wild delay was added as an effect). My friends in Cheap Trick need to headline once again...A band destined for the Hall of Fame in Cleveland should be doing 90 minute sets like they did at the Turning Stone in 2004. And comparatively speaking, when Rick NIELSEN (not Nielson) says "My singer is better than your singer" well---in the case of Joe Elliot---who can't hit those high notes anymore---so he lets the crowd belt through it---and Brett Michaels---who just tries too too hard---well Rick...You're not joking!!!

On Amsterdam mayor vetoes move against mill project

We realize that the School District has to go back to the drawing board and cut fat from the budget. Every year it's the same old predicament we as taxpayers are faced with--either approve the budget or; A. The children will suffer irreparable educational setback, B. The teachers and high end administrators won't be able to survive on the cushy salary 85% of them take OUT of Amsterdam (matter of fact out of the District), and C. God forbid, Amsterdam goes without some shape or form of sport or new model of tuba, uniform, or pencil sharpener designed in 2009 (as opposed to the one purchased in 2007). I could probably get into the double letters if I gave it enough thought. Those I do feel sorry for are those who suffer maliciously at the hands of persons in control of budgets. I feel sorry for the person who is struggling in this economy to pay their mortgage and make ends meet---maybe even experiencing some sort or physiological or psychological setback because of it (the recession), while others take advantage of their misfortune--only to line their bottomless pockets even more with the money taken from one or two laid off employees. Pathetic. As far as Ann Peconie losing at her shot at being elected to the School Board, the voters could not have made a more responsible choice! We don't need another "Ann" running our School District---save us from the headache will you please. This lady ran masked as a stoolie...period. Take into consideration she is the current curator of the Museum, consider the fact she has the ol' axe to grind (the size of a guillotine straight out of France) with someone in the District for budgetary awakenings earlier this year, AND considering the fact she and Mayor Anne Thane and Corporation Counsel DeCusatis are wound together tighter than a drum---yeah I said it, AND considering the fact Peconie allowed the Walter Elwood Museum to literally turn into a crumbling, rotting, pest infested structure (blame somebody else though---not her was the attitude)---well GASD voters, you made an intelligent choice not selecting her to serve. Maybe Thane can make her the flying rodent control officer for the City of Amsterdam. That's my opinion---you might call it---and I'm sticking to it.

There's more to this than meets the eye....I feel there may be potential connections (Conflict of Interest) at City Hall with the developer/contractor slotted to perform work should this project succeed. This should be investigated by the Attorney General. This is an old stall tactic used by developers/borrowers as administrations change on the Federal level. The changeover (often at times the clean-up of the mess) allows for time to be bought and anchoring in to begin.

Let's import a few the pigs they are slaughtering without warrant everywhere else in the world and have one massive BBQ as they press the button and implode the Chalmers building in Amsterdam. Another get-rich quick scheme...Use LYSOL-----a product that's been around for years..Holy Christ, Peter!! The sky is fallin'!!----Blame it on global warming??? Space shuttle floating around up there have anything to do with it, by chance? Aye Carrumba, Senior!!!
