GO PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only way things can change is if the right people object. The teachers are slaves of the state. Something has to change. Maybe it should be the "HOLY BOARD OF REGENTS"

I disagree with the above comment. There are no unteachable children. A teacher has to take the time to find a way to get to the child. There are many ways of reaching children. Some teachers are motivated only to get a paycheck not to teach. How do I know/ I was a teacher for 37 years and welcomed many of the "unteachables" into my classroom. Everyone learns at his or her own speed.

There are many eyesores in Rotterdam. So many that it is no longer "a nice place to live". It would behoove the town to fix up one of these places and I think that old Grand Union spot on Hamburg would be ideal. It is easy to get to and there is plenty of parking. It is a straight run from exit 25A of the thruway as well but it really isn't a high traffic area and is easy to get in and out of. Sounds perfect to me so I guess it won't go there. The other area is a little more isolated and would interfere with traffic coming and going into the library which is a pretty busy place anyway.

I make a delicious fruitcake with the candied fruits and my family loves it--most of them anyway. I leave out the assorted candied fruit and add other fruit that we love--dates raisins currants apples etc. I also think an importaant step is to soak the fruit in brandy overnight. I also add candied cherries both red and green because I have a sweet tooth and love them. I bake them in really small pans and get nine out of the batter. Don't knock what you haven't tried.

Too bad something can't be done about the two eyesores along curry road in Rotterdam. If I were Hodorowski I'd be ashamed to admit my offices were located in Rotterdam. But then we know it's because the town board makes everything difficult here.

It should be payback time for ALL those responsible. Let's have some accountability

Get your facts straight. I am a retired teacher. I was given a budget each year to spend on certain supplies. I had to spend it whether I needed those supplies or not. It was not meant for the basics that children so often run out of. that includes paper and pens, pencils and crayons, kleenex and paper towels, soap for washing hands in the classroom. I was given certain catalogs to order out of for equipment like calculators and teaching supplements that I really didn't need but had to reorder each year anyway. You can only use so many calculators especially when children usually bring their own. I don't know whar schools you're talking about, but I find teacers like to buy so they can deduct and feel like martyrs. With the salaries they are getting they can afford a few supplies.
