the parents protecting our kids by allowing them to drink in their homes shouldn't be charged as long as they take the kids car keys away and making sure they don't get hurt in anyway,it's the ones supplying the achohol that should be charged.Kids are going to drink anyway so why not make sure they are safe when doing it.I am against underage drinking but kids are going to find a way to do it anyway. We need to teach our kids the dangers of drinking and using drugs and having unprotected sex and if the parents won't teach them than us as educators need to.Think back to when we were younger.Did you always do what your parents told you,how many parties did you go to in the woods where someone drinking had to drive and you luckily made it home alive. We as parents shouldn't encourage drinking but if the kids are going to, at least I'd feel better knowing they are off the roads somewhere safe.I am a Mechanicville resident and proud parent, and I like knowing my children are safe as well as educated and therfor I am against holding parents accountable unless however they are the ones supplying the alchohol(purchasing it)
