I love how everyone slams the "state work force" or just lump us all into the "public service unions".
How about someone (Gazette, Times Union or Lise Bang-Jensen) do a real study. Find out how many political appointees there are (those whith no civil service and those who took big promotions-again by political appointment) and look at what they make/cost the state. Find out how many contractors the state has hired and see what it cost vs having state workers do the job. While we are at are our elected officials going to take a pay cut, give up benefits.
I support a house hold of 4 on $60,000.00 and when I retire I can expect a great pension of maybe $40,000.00
