The title of the article says it all: "Democrats retake Senate."
If the politicians think that the Senate is there's to "Retake" they are mistaken. The government belongs to the PEOPLE, not the PARTIES. The media better figure that out before the people take back the press too.
If the people wake up, WE'LL retake the government AWAY from the parties this November!!

Hey cs2247......are you kidding me.......did you even read the article? This man believes in God and is willing to serve. He heard the call, and went with his faith.

So another celebrity dies.....big deal!
We loose more important people, i.e. ordinary citizens and military members, everyday. And yet the celebrities death garners media attention and accolades. And i ask "why do we care?"
While Michael Jackson could sing and dance, his contributions to society are no more important than those of the World War II veterans who die on a daily basis.
What a shallow world we live in!

The site as it is appears now is an incredible eyesore on Route 5.
The beautiful and functional group home that was there has been reduced to a shell of itself, and no modern shopping center will replace the beautiful pine tree lined home that it had become.
Progress.......not bloody likely!

The Saratogian covered a story recently regarding Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake students who were caught and arrested doing the exact same thing. They named names....why aren't the names of these students being released like the BH-BL students?
These kids didn't make "Mistakes"...they made a very bad (and stupid) choice.

Update: I heard that "The Scarlet Pimpernel" was awarded nine Theater Association of New York State awards........Would you like a plate of Crow Mr. Lamar?

Mr. Lamar, I couldn't disagree with you more. I don't think you were at the same show i was at on Friday night. It appears you didn't like the play due to a script and music that you didn't enjoy. The script isn't the responsibility of this production, but it's in the genre of the classic swashbuckling films of Errol Flynn et al of the 1920's and 1930's.
The show was a wonderful event, from the staging to the costumes to the sets. The subtle lighting was incredible, the sound was fantastic, the dancing was period perfect.
The curious staging you refer to was a wedding scene, in which the leads (Ms. D'Arcy and Mr. Morgan) were singing their vows to each other. How else do people say their wedding vows then directly to each other? The "box step" you refer to is actually part of a Gavotte. Also, I've never seen a stage crew in costume, and it appeared that they were in the usual black. If you've seen people moving set pieces in costume, they probably were cast members not stage crew. The two hours and forty five minutes (which included a 15 minute intermission) is pretty standard in musical theater.
The audience members on Friday night weren't just standing and clapping, but was rather cheering! I believe that subsequent audiences will also cheer loudly!

Why is there no mention of what the coach said to the team? Surely the coach didn't tell them to turn their uniforms in instead of turning their teammate in. If they did, then the coach should be dismissed.
And for Ms. King, here is a life lesson for your little boy: A conspiracy involves two or more people involved in covering up an incident. The team is involved in a conspiracy to cover up someone's stupid choice.
What the team needs to do is learn the lesson that doing the right thing (informing on their teammate who defecated in the shower) may be hard, but doing the right thing is always hard.

Mr. Sweeney is no longer a public figure per se. So really, why is this news?
People get stopped for DWI all the time, and have their licenses revoked all the time.
Had this been "<fill in the blank> (D)", the press would be covering it a little differently. Remember when Ted Kennedy (D-MA) killed somebody while allegedly drunk driving? Oh yeah, sorry, he's a Kennedy (D-MA).

Both my now-adult children received swats on the backside if they got out of line. Neither of them have been in prison, been in fights, been abusive in relationships, been abusers of alcohol or drugs, or been disrespectful to their peers or superiors. Neither of them have beaten their children or their partners, or ended up on the streets. Neither of them have cheated on their taxes, and both of them always take responsibility for their actions.
Perhaps if more people prudently used a swat on the backside to correct their children's unacceptable behavior, we wouldn't have the issues that we have facing our country now.

On Do you think parents should be allowed to use physical discipline on their children?
