Deya I am very sorry your Dad suffered from health issues throughout his lifetime. But all adults know the dangers of smoking. It's a personal choice. That being said, I feel anything that makes our men and women of the military, especially the ones in other countries fighting even the tiniest bit more comfortable, I say let them have it! How pray tell are there other ways to reduce stress while sitting in a fox hole for days on end? Or behind a sand wall, under a building, on 24 hr watch, laying on a cot in a tent......doing all this while hoping not to get shot/killed? I would imagine even the ones stationed here in the US, in constant worry for their brothers and sisters is a lot of stress as well. Hell, some of them dont even have family to lean on, so as i said, if they want it? Let them have it. Who are we to tell these brave men and women fighting for us, to give up what might be the only crutch they have.
Hank, well said! I missed the pic/story in the paper, but found out later that day, there was a ride for the homeless. As usual the Biker community rallies for a great cause. I too wish you/they got more recognition for the good that they do. My Dad work with Don Birch for years and my family just adores him. The stigma and discrimination attached to bikers is rediculous. Sure they have their rowdies but they are no different than anyone else, they just ride a motorcycle. I was a bartender of a small pub in Sch'dy years ago Kellys Pub and I can tell you first hand, there was not ONE biker who was disrespectful to me and they were welcomed with open arms. When my 17 yr old daughter took a job in sales traveling across the US the one thing i always told her, was that if she was ever in any trouble, trust a biker to help her above any one else, and i tell her that to this day. Hopefully someday every one will wake up and give you guys all the positive attention that you so deserve.
In a personal choice, I disagree with abortion. However, there are circumstances such as rape, or incest, too young Etc for having an EARLY abortion. That being said, the partial birth abortion Obama wants to reinstate is in my opinion, shared by the letter to the editor, barbaric at best! How or why is it that a woman would want to wait until the end of the pregnancy to abort? If one is pregnant would they not know long before that, that they dont want the baby??
My daughter quit school in her Junior year. We (her parents) discussed it with her and decided since she had skipped and missed 3/4 of the year, and I was tired of arguing with the principle on a weekly basis, due to personality differences between him and her, that she could. With the understanding that she get her GED and a job. She also earned her GED before her class graduated, and got a menial job. That was 6 years ago and today she has a great sales job, same one for the last 4 years and lives on Big Island in Hawaii. Nota bad accomplishment for a small town girl. We are very proud of her! School is not for every one.
Jeffrey...... You are not the only person I have heard this from. The SCCC Graduation was spoiled for many spectators including my husband who went to see my son graduate. Not only were these people disrespectful INside, but there were fights and brawls outside, no doubt from the same socially unacceptable ignorant idiots.
I have land line and internet services combined. I have checked online faxing and they charge a monthly fee with no guarentee so for now, since i fax things quite often, i'll keep my land line as well as my cell phone a while longer.
You can thank Patterson and Obama They're the ones that made weed cheaper than cigs. Everybody that smokes is going to find something to smoke. Way to go politicians!
I too hope they get the funding. And to situate/change the water rights, update the historical, cultural issues and allow more recreational usage for those of us that enjoy the Mohawk for fishing, boating etc.
