What else would you expect from Stefanik then her starting with attacks on the President! Another Republican obstructionist has been elected and we can expect more of the same nonsense in the next 2 years.

There is no real Alliance "Party"! Just a few folks clustered about Mr Hull and a party line on the ballot. Apparently
Mr Hull has no problem with the Republican agenda and is content to play the role of spoiler if he has no chance to run on his own.
It's time he honestly credit McCarthy for the genuine accomplishments of his administration. It is true that much more attention needs to be given to the neighborhoods and this has been a failure of the city council as well as the mayor but electing more Republican obstructionists to any political office is hardly a solution.

Carmella speaks only for Carmella as usual. And her hostile and ignorant attacks on another neighborhood with legitimate concerns are true to form!
Let's do a survey in both neighborhoods and see what the true feelings are. Finally, shame on the Stockade "leader" for failing to convene an open neighborhood meeting.

Shame on King and the cowardly other rubber stamps who do not care about the opinions of the residents of Schenectady. Metroplex and a small gang of outside profiteers in cahoots with an opportunistic cabal of Democratic insiders are running the City. There is a need to open up and reform the Democratic party in Schenectady County and City.

Article fails to explain why three members voted no although they explained their "no" votes at the meeting! Poor journalism! This was "discussion of substance" that was not reported on.

Are we to believe that Philip Morris and Ray Gillen know more about the casino developer's plans than the Schenectady City Council that was about to vote to alter the zoning code? Scary! Let's get the open and public discussion underway.

Any so called "neighborhood leader" who supports a proposal in the absence of detailed information is irresponsible. Those in nearby communities who have taken the time to examine the facts are not in support of casinos. A full discussion of the costs and benefits should occur before anyone claims to represent opinion in the neighborhoods. The most impacted neighborhoods have not held meetings to discuss the issues at this point nor are they quoted in the story above. The story headline "most" also is misleading as several "leaders" did not feel they were in a position to take a position at this time. Several other neighborhoods were not contacted. Not a very good piece of journalism!
There is an attempt in Schenectady by the political leadership, developers, and seemingly the Gazette to push a rush to judgement. With more time and critical examination of the facts it is likely that citizens in Schenectady will not want a casino.
