Where was DSS help over the weekend? Everything I have seen or read was DSS did not start their piece of the process till Monday Morning. Why, with something of this magnitude?

Ongoing issue in this city for as long as I can remember. Other towns actually come back to clear roads to curb. Sch'dy does that on a limited basis for selected streets Yes, that uses additional resources, but if the personnel who plow the roads got to within a foot or foot and a half of the curb, this would not be as big a deal. My mothers street has been reduced to one lane because the city left about 5-6 feet of snowbanks on either side instead of plowing to near the curb and also built up a 15' high pile of snow on top of a fire hydrant. When the plows go by the snow banks they leave, are heavy and most folks in this city cannot move snow like that with a shovel and do not have the resources for a snow blower. Don't get me wrong it is not an easy job and alot of folk, including me appreciate what all the plow personnel do, push the snow further back and ticket and tow cars out immediately like Albany and Troy do.

He refers to downtown Schenectady as the "western edge", We obviously cant compare to his glorious part of the Hudson river.

Which is it a flood watch or warning? Conflicting information between title of story and what the story actually states.

It should be required that everyone re-takes a road test, or at least a competency test every 25 years. Roads change, cars change, traffic patterns change. Its nothing against the old; middle age people can probably remember being able to drive drunk and getting a ride home when pulled over. If this was a young person they would have immediately been arrested for hit and run, while this lady most likely didn't know what year it was and will got off for killing this poor guy.

wmarcinic,
Maybe you missed the point. Some of us Gazette readers want truthful and (somewhat) unbiased news reported, regardless of political preference. Though your statistic has no source or basis, maybe off the top of your head, please remember that not everyone is a republican, nor do they lean to the right. Regardless of your feelings about the Obama administration the news needs to be reported and in a manner that presents the FACTS to both sides of the spectrum. Think before you speak. You must love to hear yourself talk...
