It is disgraceful that local Republicans office holders are flocking to gun rallies that want to keep us subject to high capacity magazines and assault rifles. Not to mention background check issue. We won't forget the next election, guys.

So you think the political party that has spent all of its energy the last few years helping the 1% increase their wealth and power over every one else, blocking regulations on all aspects of the economy, limiting and blocking union and worker rights, blocking raising wages, blocking universal health insurance, suddenly wants to pass a law to help workers have a better family life? Who could possibly be so gullible?

We all were taught by 7th grade that "You can not yell fire in a crowded theater." The point if that all rights have limits for the protection of everyone else. None of us should have to live in a society with assault guns and high capacity magazines. That has nothing at all to do with all your points.

No mention of total disregard of Irish prisoners starving to death as part of her total disregard for Irish issues. Shades of the attitude in 1847. Let the Irish starve, better with fewer of them.

Saying that Niskayuna needs the money more than Schenectady is totally astonishing. Niskayuna actually had one middle school for a lengthy period. To say combining buildings is damaging compared to the funding issues facing other districts is out to lunch.

If your thesis is true, why has the nations wealth been transferred to the top 1% with everyone else facing stagnant wages and fewer or no benefits?
You need to read Who Stole the American Dream by Hedrick Smith.

A bunch of ugly comments. Where is the news of the successful students, Ivy League admissions, courses in IB and the Arts far more than any school around offers, and other evidence of success? gina99 is half informed.

Did the editorial writer watch this week's debate?
Romney asked questions of Pres Obama which was against the rules.
He( and Paul Ryan) talked long beyond the allotted time every time they had the floor. Clearly a strategy.
Romney gave rebuttals when he already had his turn. When called on it by Candy Crowley he said I am going to make my comment anyway.
The President had to eventually behave the same to even the playing field.

Outstanding piece. Much needed in the community.
