Suspension is not always the answer and spending money to find the solution is just a waste. When a kid acts up they should be disciplined. Send them home and tell them they have to come back the next morning with a parent or their legal guardian. To often schools are being used as day cares and not learning institutions. This has an adverse effect on everyone from the teacher to the students trying to learn. Parents need to be parents, teachers need to be teachers and administrators need to administrate. It is the parents duty not the schools so put the ball back in the court it belongs in!

Where are the parents of these kids? When is enough, enough! These are kids whose parents don't give a rats butt about what they do, but take matters into your own hands to protect what you've earned and the city will be on you like white on rice! They need a good old fashion spanking. when I was a kid if you did something like that you got a spanking from the person who owned the property. If you went home and told your mom you got another spanking. Kids like this have no respect, mostly because there parents have no respect for themselves or others. This is what drives good people to do bad things. If the city won't fix it, sue there dumb a#!&s. Lord knows you have tried everything else!

Free Enterprise would be the best thing since sliced bread if the bread was slice evenly. The countries that do business with the United States receive perks not given to Americans.

Well said Eric but for some people money solves everything. We need to travel back in time to the fifties and early sixties to see where we've gone wrong. In the early sixties they separated Church and State and from that point America has been on the decline.

I'm sitting here in Rhode Island reading this and laughing. You walk in the Stop&Shop and there on display are all the fireworks you would ever want to buy. New York state should try not to run our lives! no more helmet laws, seat belt laws or high taxes on luxury items middle class people want to buy. If you blow your hand off misusing fireworks then you deserve to lose your hand. Stupid people will always be stupid people, don't blame the rest of us. You will never be able to fix "STUPID".

Mr. Goodwin you need to take a trip to Arizona and New Mexico. Although it is true that that these "Illegal Aliens" work hard and take demeaning jobs they also wait at the local Home Depot and Lowes to get hired every day at half the minimum wage. Some pay for their passage by bringing backpacks full of "Illegal" drugs with them. Illegal is just what it means and if narrow minded people want to put a blind eye to it like our current administration, then we might as well forget all laws that protect Americans.

Union Labor has been doing this for better than ten years but everyone thinks unions are bad so it gets no notoriety. Its called "Helmets to Hardhats" and gives all veterans with an honorable discharge preference over anyone else when we hire Apprentices. What took you so long? Again!

Life is different below the Mason Dixon line and we all know that. It doesn't make it right but I think the punishment goes way beyond the offense. If she wasn't a celebrity it wouldn't of even been and issue. People should be sensitive toward other people. Imagine if every time you called a police officer by any other name than a police officer you received a ticket.

You should of asked your patrons what they thought. Part of the nostalgia of Proctors is the Marquee. To remove it is like removing the art of the building itself. The Marquee has been a sign of what was in Schenectady for as long as most of us can remember. It's a shame you want to just remove it to make things easier.

Bad bikers give the majority of good bikers a bad rap. Helmet laws just like seat belt laws should be up to the individual not the government. If you want to die by being stupid that's up to you. As far as saving the rest of us money on insurance that's just plain bull. Leave us alone, loud pipes saved my life two nights ago when some incoherent text typing retard pulled into my lane on the Thruway at exit 24. Those are the jerks you should be after. And if you're going to write a comment on an article like this, have the sack to put your name.
