I can't wait for the upcoming home games against Dartmouth and Yale -- hopefully Yale is still #1 when they come here on 1/28. That'll make it even more compelling.

Most people aren't mature enough to drive at 16.

Eh, who cares? It's not like the public can attend.

The Rats are probably really hurting for season ticket holders and the fact that this new Adirondack team could double them up in that category isn't good news either.

Not that the name is a big deal -- the important thing is that they're playing there -- but "Adirondack Flyers" sounds so much better than "Adirondack Phantoms."

Likely Adirondack Phantoms, to give it a more regional feel... Saratoga on up to Ticonderoga is their market, I think.

By the way, if the team ends up there, would The Gazette have a beat guy for them?

As of this afternoon, approx 1,000 deposits have been made, according to CBS6. That's obviously well short, but I think that's comparable to the # of season ticket holders the Rats have. 1,000 deposits in 3 weeks is pretty solid, especially given the economy.

Big news for that region. Ideally, the Bills would be in Cortland, but the Jets will be a big draw there as well. A real shot in the arm for fans in that area who otherwise wouldn't see NFL players.
