What the district needs to do is find partnerships that will increase the educational experience of our students without increasing costs and then look at cutting in areas that do not increase cost. We have a nationally recognized Fine Arts program at the high school, I cannot believe that there are not organizations out there to work with to cover some of the costs. Additionally, we need more counselors and psychologists, partner with local universities which sponsor these programs to include faculty and students in our schools so that we have that many more people to work with without raising costs. This will benefit both our students and the students at those programs who get real experience. Everything needs to be on the table for restructuring and we need to be realistic in the network and partnerships that we build to fund our educational institution.
