I'll do my best. A decision is expected to be made by Thursday of this week, possibly as early as Tuesday. I'll actually be in Kentucky for horse racing, but we'll have people keeping tabs locally, as well.

Nick Tahoe's. What a place. Can't beat the garbage plate, especially at 3 a.m.

From what I understand, the Phantoms people have no other alternative for next season, so, yes, it appears so, even though they're still not yet halfway to their 2,500 goal

For sure, 1,000 deposits still falls well short, but it doesn't appear as if the Brooks people have any other choice for next season than Glens Falls, shortcomings and all.
As for whether the team will warrant a beat writer (which considering our bare-bones staff, would mean me), that's a good question. I don't see how we could completely ignore a Triple A team in the market, particularly one that would be in Albany's division and a likely 12-time opponent. We shall see.

Peters for sure; Petro is a question mark.
As for Mr. Paragallo, the TV reports from up this way showed the condition of his horses, and they were deplorable. A real shame.

I was told that the Brooks people only got in contact with city and arena officials on Thursday with the season ticket provision. The Rats had an unofficial count of 259 deposits from the game.
My feeling is that the Brooks people knew in the back of their minds that Glens Falls would always be there for them and they could explore other options first. When they didn't pan out, they came back to Glens Falls with the ticket ultimatum. Again, that's just my gut feeling.
I just don't think that 27 days is enough time to get that many commitments, even for only 25 bucks.

When I think of your trusty Civic, the first four words that come to mind are, "No Police! No Police!" Great story.
