Mr. Astorino can slam Mr. Cuomo all he wants for high taxes. If he has any magic solutions or elixirs, how come he hasn't lowered taxes in Westchester County?

Anyone else see the irony with the Center for Arizona Policy's president being named Herrod.......and referring to "religious liberty" to boot?? This is priceless balderdash!

How refreshing to read about a nice idea like this one!

Sorry to hear this man is dead, but he was the epitome of a "bad apple" living off taxpayer dollars for WAY too long (and people complain about welfare recipients? Please!). May both he and the public rest in peace now.

13.3 inches in Schenectady? Nonsense. I live in the City (off State, near Fehr) and we have at least 15 inches here.

I was fortunate enough to have obtained tickets for myself & my brother to several events ('though NOT the "miracle on ice" hockey match). Lake Placid was superb! What a treat to see such diversity in the crowds on the streets! To me, I think they were the last "reasonable" Olympics (scale, pricing, TRULY amateur athletes, etc.)

A 40% raise for the person in charge of the trash collection department? Mr. Olsen must be delerious. I live in the city and can tell you many, many stories about the thugs who work collecting trash. They barely empty the containers, then toss them around, often cracking & ruining them in the process. Talk to me about a raise for their supervisor when such behavior ceases.

So much for global warming.
