My favorite word learned in high school is still "defenestrate," 'cause it's one of those words that makes you go "geez, there's actually a word for that?"
If you want to meet people, get involved -- join clubs, participate in activities, go to dinners and movie nights and whatever else they have going on. After all, if you're interested in, say, the college choir, anyone you meet there will be, too, so you already have something in common.
I've never seen "Footloose" all the way through, just bits and pieces I've run across while channel-surfing. Then again, I'm not sure if I count as Gen-X ... I think I'm sort of between X and Y, fitting into neither entirely.
Roundabouts are a nightmare, especially when you have to go through more than one in a row (I'm looking at you, Malta, with your absurd string of five and counting) -- they'll make you downright queasy. And that's not to mention that if you don't drive through them all every single day, they tend to be confusing.
Malls should be avoided unless there's something special about them you can't get at home, like a certain store you've always wanted to visit. Even then, though, it should be kept short, 'cause for the most part, a mall is a mall.
I had really low expectations for "Pineapple Express," but I actually liked it -- it wasn't great, but it was fairly good, amusing at times, plus it even pointed out how much smoking pot can make you miss out on life in a lot of ways (how often do you hear that in a pot-centered movie?).
The Olympics are totally addictive, to the point that even though I don't usually like sports much, I'll watch whatever's on -- even if I don't like that sport at all. The best thing is that we usually have two or three choices at any given time on TV, so I can flip around and think, "basketball? Ick! Oh, but the other channel has a long, tedious soccer game? Alright, basketball it is..."
