A can of beans, bulk bag of plain rice, a whole turkey, fresh in-season veggies, frozen chicken breast, fish from the river, shrimp, canned salmon and tuna, veggies from your garden, wild edibles, hunted animals, eggs, milk, bulk plain yogurt, flour to make bread, potatos, liver, hamburger, dried beans, etc. etc. etc. are a lot cheaper than chips and soda. We (everyone) need to learn how to eat smart.

I don't buy into the while "poor people can only afford McDonalds". That is only true if you require prepackaged foods where you don't need to expend any effort preparing it.

So the woman who committed 3rd degree grand larceny and stole $150k gets probation and the guy who committed 4th degree grand larceny and stole $10k gets 3 years in jail?
