Interesting, but the figures and examples he uses don't really support his point. For instance, considering that "only 59 percent of respondents could name the vice president of the United States," I'm impressed at the worldliness shown by the other figures, such as:

47 percent of people questioned knew that the Dalai Lama is a Buddhist;
62 percent knew that most Indians are Hindus; and
52 percent knew that Ramadan is the Islamic holy month.
