Lets punish Zimmerman 'just because'! He was found innocent by his peers, there is no reason for any other actions against him, there is no double jeopardy in the law-period.
White guilt; and fear of offending the minority community is what this is all about. Reverse discrimination.
Get over it.

Where is all the big building going on in Schenectady? How about some summer attractions being advertised for State Street, Central Park, the Veterans Park at Veeder Ave, or even a few bands and food festivals to draw people down town??
Oh well, there is still Saratoga; the summer place to be!

That mansion has brought grief to all who have owned it. Greed is not good.

You vote for tax and spend Democrats=that is what you get.
Instead of letting the housing come back with lower taxes; these guys want to compete with homers and apartments that we have an over abundance of now. Take the 1/2 Million dollar$$ and spend it where it will do immediate good or lower the taxes!
Enough with the special interests who support election campaigns and who knows what else.

Where are the socialist liberals who say 'the city is doing fine' and let kids be kids.
Higher and higher taxes and free rent, food stamps, cell phones and monthly checks for these people who don't work or take care of the 10 kids we pay for!
No wonder houses are vacant in Schenectady.

Another great reason to go to a county run school district. There is no reason for all these school district in the county to compete with each other.
Consolidation equals efficiency AND ENDS each district competing with the other. Also; the tax payers get efficiency and tax savings.
NOTHING good happens when we keep the status quo!

cidbil; the way I read it:
One opinion was presented that Schenectady can and should do more
Another opinion was made that Schenectady is just fine and how dare any one question that.
My opinion:
My taxes are sky high
Very few people frequent down town compared with other cities
We can do better to promote the city to include more frequent and diverse events downtown.
You are in denial!

Fred explains why Schenectady is 'doing great' because he says so. I will stick to the chowder fest and many other events Saratoga has going on.
Schenectady can't compete because they are in denial.

Catherine, Perhaps more advertising and promoting of these events is in order. Post a response with all the dates, locations and hours if you know them.
I wasn't aware of much going on.
